The helmet came in an ordinary cardboard box with GLS. To the helmet was a cloth bag, the helmet itself was not filled for the transport anyway.
First of all: You can tell the helmet entirely to its reasonable price! The processing mechanism, the gap dimensions, the finish of some parts are quite ok, but not absolutely perfect. You buy here not just "Mercedes", rather a "Hyundai". The dimensions are about the same as with competitors (I had a Caberg), I ordered M (57-58) and fits perfectly. He sits minimal firmer than my old Caberg the same size, what I feel rather than pleasant. The chin strap is well located and is perfectly adjustable. The folding mechanism works well if you have the hang of it, as you have to press the button to (is the first time something fumbling until one's out has). The viewing angle is excellent but the visor is used to. When Caberg was "nose" where the finger presses against to open the visor exactly in the middle, when Rüger there are 2 tabs on the left and right about under the eyes.
The mechanism for the sun visor is not for Grobmotoriker. It works well if you find the lever in my opinion a bit too small to geratenen. However, moving the lever about 2 cm, and that's enough to have a translation completely pop out the sun visor. Initially, fumbling, but probably only a matter of habit. The sun visor itself is beautifully dark and covered a sufficient range. However, the processing / finishing of the edges "unhappy" The bottom edge of the sun visor is clear and reflects! This is not dangerous, but you have to get used to it. In certain situations, a ray of sunshine can break right at that edge, thus ensuring an easy "glint" in the field of view, which is not at least hidden. However, this is whining at a high level, because this effect you only have the use of the visor and used hardly in poor visibility. It does not really bother, but it's just a visual effect I did not know from Caberg ago and the more so a is a "light bulb moment" in relation to the competitive price.
The ventilation is good, but the helmet is loud. I thought already my Caberg was loud but the Rüger is significantly louder. Up Tempo 50 all is well until a speed of 80 you can just barely make calls via Bluetooth and listen to about 120 music, although that too is no longer really be an audiophile pleasure. From Tempo 50 already begin wind noise significantly and from 120 they are so loud that you should no longer drive without hearing protection. For comparison, in Caberg I could at any time hear my engine, despite wind noise. In Rüger I hear the motor over 120 km / h no more, only wind.
Bluetooth: The Bluetooth system is relatively reasonable integrated at the back in the helmet, but the charging socket for the battery is tucked under the rear lining. How much of this helmet is the find of the socket for the first charging the battery a little tweaking. But it is ultimately still somewhat sensibly tuned and also since 3 days keeps the battery at me already by nonstop.
The speakers are attached with Velcro and can be repositioned slightly to sit perfectly. However, the recesses in the helmet much too large which ensures that the loudspeaker tilt purely in the recess and thus are too far away from your ear. So you should or similar recesses with some foam fill, so that the speaker does not tilt away and can remain directly in the ear. However, that was when my Caberg same way.
The Rüger helmet is noticeably lighter than my old Caberg helmet, which is very pleasant. The aerodynamics is ok, head rotating at high speeds gives no nasty surprises.
Now to be seen whether the Rüger helmet in a few months is still impeccable. In the mechanics of the sun visor, I somehow feel that does not live very long.
Whether the helmet my head now as well as protects the well-known colleagues for three to five times money, of course I can not judge, but so be it. There are in Germany after all standardized test procedures and it may indeed only helmets are sold, which also withstand these. I can therefore assume that any motorcycle helmet protects my head well because this is his basic function tested. Therefore for me when buying a helmet just more comfort, equipment and color with a favorable price of significance here and the tops Rüger in sum all the others I've looked at. The latter is also the reason for the 4 stars, actually, I would have been better 3.5 stars because of the build quality but this is not so. And if you even see the pure price / performance ratio, it has the 4 but deserves somewhere.
Overview:
+ Very reasonable price
+ Looks good
Integrated Bluetooth +
+ Integrated sun visor
+ Relatively low weight
+ Comfort / fit
+ Ventilation
+ Aerodynamics
- Somewhat cheap-looking mechanics
- Processing / finish not perfect
- Volume / wind noise
Conclusion: I would absolutely recommend this helmet not because he does one or the other disadvantage (volume, "fiddly" mechanism), which is likely to be in many, perhaps a NoGo. But really bothers me not at the price. In any case, the helmet offers more than one would expect for the price and well worth it, at least for anyone to look at it more accurate. There are indeed in Internet orders always a right of return. From this I will make no use, I will keep the helmet.
By the way I had at the beginning problems with Bluetooth with my iPhone. A demand has been acknowledged by mail in person with a phone call by Mr. Rüger, who made every effort, with me to find the problem together. That's what I call great service. The problem was the way the iPhone itself
