After about a minute one of the LED began to twitch irregularly. The distances were shorter and the twitching rapidly turned into a pulsing. At this time I was already on the way to LED and wanted to make sure it is properly seated. Pulling I could however no longer, because the metal pins has been annealed. The LED pulsing faster and faster, and it was biting, dark gray smoke, the (to match the pulsing) came from the LED intermittently. A piece next to it began to twitch another LED.
From the LED to the light switch is approximately 3 meters. When I reached him, half the room was enveloped in dense smoke. The lamp socket was completely burned out, the corrosive plastic burning smell (beyond words to describe) had eaten within a few seconds in walls, floors and upholstery. Only after more than a week time airing, removal of affected textiles and repeated washing of all wooden surfaces and walls, the room was usable again.
Of course, I immediately contacted the seller, because I wanted to make sure that the problem is investigated. I have a detailed description of the incident and also photos of transformers transmitted, so that the manufacturer can follow the. Happens is this: The two burned-out lamps were exchanged without comment. No "I'm sorry that we have put her living room on fire", not "We have submitted the LED investigated and came to the following conclusion" - nothing.
Conclusion: I find the procedure totally irresponsible. Just imagine if I had left the lights burning and would have gone out of the room. The apartment fire was prevented only because I still have it ready in time for the light switch. A call and an immediate cessation of sales until the problem is resolved, is the minimum you can expect from a responsible manufacturer. A fortiori, because apparently already reported several customers from this problem.
