Have 4 different USB hard drives tried (with or without external power supply)
1. The recording of broadcasts regularly leads to total failure of the device
2. The shift function performs regularly to the total failure of the device
3. Occasionally (fortunately not so often) the unit depends on easy and unresponsive
After such a total failure, the device only helps remove the power (because the device makes no response any longer) and to examine the hard disk for errors completely (which takes a long time).
These "effects" occurred regardless of whether the disk had an additional power supply or not. As previous reviews and their support Feeback suggests the rather weak hardware (processor) has combined to deal with signal interference, rather than the hard drive.
I forgive only one star because I attach great importance to the PVR function and this is more a matter of luck with this device.
