The LEDs, in contrast to most other LED bulbs in "corncob shape" no cover made of transparent plastic. Thus the risk of overheating in closed versions is less acute; if one operates the pears but open (eg with me in the garage) and without prejudice to the soldering points between the LEDs, you can feel a more than significant "tingle" on the fingers, which is noticeable even after you release some time. Certainly no open 230 volts, but a mistake that must not be!
