This book is presented as the reference on the French Revolution. Indeed, here is a detailed analysis of the facts and political mechanisms in these troubled times. However the author led a very politically engaged analysis, I would say even partisan. If the details abound on the political actions of the "hero" of the Revolution, Mr Soboul remains discreet about the crimes of the Revolution: it justifies the massacres of September, obviously never heard of the Vendée genocide and crimes that does not disown the WaffenSS of the Das Reich division! It is curious that no memory of leftist historians when it comes to talking OF REVOLUTIONS !!!! The curious reader of this period, I suggest, in addition, reading the excellent book, written in a beautiful language, Pierre Gaxotte politically very incorrect.
