The digibuddy DTC 5701 Charger for Nikon Battery EN-EL12 I ordered, so I can outside the camera battery and load independent of the camera. With a second battery so I can continue to take pictures, the camera is not blocked by connecting it to the charger. The charger DTC 5701 is designed for a specific type of battery, in this case, the Nikon EN-EL12 (or compatible clones). The battery fits perfectly into the mount and has stable contact. The charger has a micro USB input, it can therefore be used in all sorts of micro-USB power supplies, of course (with power cable) to any USB-A port (PC, plug power supplies) and the cigarette lighter (enclosed adapter). I take my phone simply PSU, a Samsung with Micro-USB connector, since I do not need additional power supply with me rumschleppen. Operation of the DTC-5701 is straightforward: Charging = red LED, battery full = LED green The electronics are designed rather conservative. A linear block (UN8HX) monitored the loading. "Linear" means that the power to charge the battery can not be higher than what the USB supplies. These are usually up to 500 mA and thus invites an empty 1000mAh battery at least 2 hours (which is absolutely OK for me). In operation, no heating of the charger is determined. The DTC-5701 leads the 5V Micro USB again on a USB-A port, so that more consumers (also a second DTC 5701) can be infected. A feature that can be useful. However, the user must ensure himself that he is not overloaded the supplying USB power source. Mechanically affects the DTC-5701 confidence. It is completely screwed and fully dismantled, made of durable plastic and is processed accurately. The unit is designed to stand upright and has for this purpose installed a 50g weight (see customer photos). Overall, the device weighs 97g (without battery and cable) and measures approx 90 x 63 x 53 mm (H x W x D). I personally would like to see the device a little flatter and easier would be for mobile use. For me it does not have to stand up and be difficult to insert the battery, I believe it anyway firmly with the other hand. The bottom line is a successful product, simple in the supply and operation. The best for me EN-EL12 Charger, purchase with no regrets.
