When opening the converter housing in the middle (went very easy: just put together without latches plastic halves - just with a knife vorstichtig pry) the cause was quickly found: the cable wires are fast and sloppy soldered onto the small circuit board, so that in this case, a tiny copper veins one short circuit caused. With a small screwdriver bent away, the part went again - temporarily at least. After a while alternating between impeccable operation and no function I have it then can be, since it was intended for the PC of a friend who has no idea about technology and what needs reliable.
Once again an example that the CE marking (the right, not "Chinese Export" ;-), even if that would be more appropriate in this case) is legally not a seal.
The price makes returning little sense, therefore, at all my trial out of curiosity to open the device, of course, the warranty expires.
Conclusion: Stay away! Perhaps what for hobbyists, it can be easily opened and closed again ... ;-)
