FIRST IMPRESSION: DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION AND PROCESSING:
If one can convince 2.1 system immediately when Edifier Predator, it is the unusual design. The subwoofer could actually come directly from the movie Predator and makes sure her a lot when you have him standing on the table, or the TV console. I was in any case always asked about it, how unusual looks the system. Overall, I like the design very well. Even if you're not a fan of the film, it makes quite a bit ago, is modern, but not exaggerated, but minimalist and tidy. Optionally, there is the system in white, black (glossy) and matte black.
In addition to unusual design the system but also offers first-class workmanship. The satellite speakers have a firm footing, the membrane in the speakers is bonded properly, as the base (not tilted). Even the large subwoofer continues this positive impression. The volume control on the top of the unit is clean recessed into the body, the rear connections are tight in the case and also the knob for regulating Bass makes a stable impression. To be honest, I'm more than pleased with this overall package because if you look in addition to the quite reasonable price, then you really can not complain about here!
Child's play is incidentally also the port of the sound system. Although is a description that everything well explained, you do not need, however, if one has not quite two left hands. So into the upper socket, the cable is plugged in to the power supply, including the following (green) jack cable that can be plugged into the terminal, such as PC, TV, etc. and finally including the following output for the satellite speakers. So really self-explanatory and easy.
The first impression was therefore very positive with me and left no room for criticism.
THE SOUND:
Good appearance is in a sound system of course not everything and there is little, if the good performance is only limited, but the musical enjoyment will be the loser.
But do not worry, the Predator Sound System is not only a blender, but was able to sonically more than happy tune.
Surprisingly good about it is the small satellite speakers that I would have seen at higher volumes than the weak point. But none! Even at very high volumes (and the sound system can seeeeeehr loud music playing) shine through the small speakers very balanced sound and above all scratch-free sound. I was surprised and pleased me all the more that here the music experience can tarnish nothing. An equally impeccable job done and the subwoofer, which can conjure up a decent bass in spite of its compact design and can play back sounds bulky and full. The lodger or neighbors expected the system at a higher volume but surely tear from the stool (please do not try this, we live in a single family, but my father has been surprised in the cellar over the booming bass that came from 2 floors above). Already at medium volume, the system can provide a full sound, with each movie night should be for home theater experience. Who is not quite as on powerful bass, which can regulate the whole rotary knob to the desired level and the bass fades into the background (the can sound then but also a lot flatter act). Overall, I must say that the system was able to convince here wholeheartedly. I think the sound was overall very balanced coordinated, so do not sag the highs and the mids even at maximum bass. No matter what volume, the voices in the film (The Hobbit), in song (Sir Sly Gold) or PC-Game (Thief 4) were always clear and can clearly be heard and are not merged into inseparable porridge. Again, I can only repeat more than convincing performance at a very reasonable price.
CONCLUSION:
I rarely have things in which I am so impressed and convinced after a short time the Predator 2.1 sound system from Edifier is one but definitely one of them. Not only the design is exceptional, and the processing is convincing and is excellent for this price. Real surprise for me but the crystal clear sound of the system, which cuts a fine figure even at high listening levels and has disappointed me in any area of application.
Anyone who is looking for a cost-effective system which I attach the Predator 2.1 system from Edifier warmly. For me there is absolutely nothing to complain about. Precision landing on whole level!
