Thank you, dear Fairy Godmother (Audio CD)

Customer Review

"Bunter Hund" may have been in 2007 Reinhard Mey successful album for a long time; Ironically, it touches me to this day from all his albums at least, what the usual is partly due to the production, and especially the fact that his compositions not quite kept his usual level.

How good to know therefore that Mey with his albums always goes on tour in order, as he designed it at the desk, "unplugged" so to speak (if you disregard us in their original form by the triviality that his Acoustic plugged is), to bring them closer. And in this form even go the nine songs of "Bunter Hund", as he presents on this tour document, much better to me ran. (Luckily, he has this "I'm in love with my secretary" omitted!)

As usual seasons Mey his current songs with personal concert favorites as "friendly faces", "all the races", "Come pour my glass again a" and "Let Love on us rain"; these songs and others as especially "Pöter" and "I love you" adorn his last live albums, however, with such regularity that I still wished some variety here.

The theme cycle revolves operate as usual to eg memories ("Summer 52", "Three boxes childhood" Do you remember Etienne? "), Ironically-Snappy (" Pöter "," In Hempel's under the bed "," Any Depp mows somewhere always "), philosophical (" Love is everything "), Besinnliches (" The time of the juggler past "), songs in praise of the wine (" Come pour my glass again on "," I need a sommelier "), thought-provoking ( "The Fisherman and the Boss") and bitter criticism of the war ("Kai").

Following a cherished tradition Mey has not only specifically for this tour, but this time even two new songs written for the encore, and they are for me the highlight of the album: on the one hand, as he did in "Men in the construction market" over just these species amused (and this is not least using a small self-quotation from "Above the Clouds", itself involving); and then, as he calls the "Abendpantolette" (and, consequently, fads, etc.) takes again with his usual verbal acrobatics at the highest level for a ride. I have seen Reinhard Mey on 17.10.2008 in Wetzlar live (and amazed at how fit the man is!) And already knew that night: already this alone because the two songs I'm going to get the live CD! Too bad he did not have it done already for his album. The title "Thank you, dear fairy godmother" owes album alone the fact that the same song is included in the program, but is also cited in the "Abendpantolette".

Just like the previous live album, "I can" (and others) were also recorded this in the Circus Krone in Munich. Each of his live CDs is characterized by a very special atmosphere; for example, was a listen to "between Zurich and at home" very intense and sometimes angry or "performance anxiety" an avid and almost "over-motivated" (quote) Reinhard Mey, radiates "Thank you dear fairy godmother" the peace and quiet of an artist from, which already nothing left to prove, but still has much to tell, and when he does accompanied only with his guitar, this, I can hear him here prefer to.
