--orig. Review follows: ---
My 2 year old MX-518 got a new owner (still works well), so a new mouse was needed.
Price / performance spoke clearly for the G500 mouse, this has now been 3 weeks here in continuous operation.
Here a couple of facts to the mouse:
5 dpi levels, these are very clear Logitech Tool free adjustable between 200-5700 dpi.
I currently use the following quite good attitude:
600 - 900-1200 - 1500-1800
This 1200 is my standard for work in Windows, and for games. The low DPI resolutions are intended for Sniper (or accurate targeting in applications), the high example for faster turns in online shooters.
The G500 has 4 LEDs to show the DPI, I do not want more.
An LED is always on, with this you can easily identify the distance from the other 3 variables Leds:
The 5 stages shine so: 1 - 1 + 2 - 1 + 2 + 3 - 2 + 3 - 3; So 0 problemo. Who has any idea of binary numbers know that you can show 8 states clearly with 3 LEDs.
The Setup Tool can occupy each of the 10 keys freely, and even application / create game-specific configs.
This can even save mouse internally.
The weights slot is currently occupied with me with only one 1.7g piece. Heavy mouse need not be.
The weights come in a very nice metal box (see photos above).
The mouse wheel can be a button (in front of the wheel) to run free or easy engagement change.
Fiepen I hear none at all of the mouse, not even launched by ear. I can hear well, but not perfect either, or my mouse just whimpers not.
The G500 is a mouse that I can recommend to anyone.
Addendum: The beautiful silvery imprint is at all contact points with the hand after 1 month away. So on both mouse buttons thenar and directly at Logo (there's none more soon) and the right of it. Something ugly - as was the MX-518 better with the painted hologram. Therefore, there's 1 point deduction from me. The functionality is however continue 1A.
