Klonoa is probably next to Mario and Sonic one of the most Jump`n`Runs at all and is often referred to as the Kirby Playstation. In some ways the comparison agrees with Kirby also because Klonoa presents itself similarly colorful, the "combat system" of Gener "suck" and throw also shows parallels and the whole world is a kind of "Dreamland".
1997 saw the cute little creatures on the PSX for the first time the light of the video game world and has so far rightly a permanent place in the Hall of Fame of videogames.
The story itself is quite simple knit (principle: Evil kidnaps a princess), but staged beautifully what is happening, not least through some very emotional moments. Those moments range from small jokes to quite sad scenes such as the death of a character. But do not worry - the game remains appropriate for children to be too childish without.
This may be at Knuddel graphics and permanent "Wahoo" -Schreien of Klonoa for the first time my little, but some very demanding passages I assume times a certain difficulty that something is likely to be too high for younger players. Impossible not but frustig all!
The game is played as you desire. Wiimote only (held laterally), Wiimote and Nunchuk, Classic Controller or CubeController. Based on these selection criteria you can see already that the game rather less uses the motion control of the Wii, but that it does not need because the classic gameplay of Jump`n`Run also works at the present time still perfectly. Only a new attack has been incorporated as bonuses where you can create a kind of whirlwind of movement - it is rather to be seen as unnecessary, because without this Klonoa is also playable.
So Konoa running alternately left to right through the beautiful 2.5D world and attacks and throws opponents kicking around, solving puzzles or tricky jump passages.
Big changes got rather only in the graphical sector the game. The pre-rendered 2D sprites have given knotless 3D models and everywhere you can see now beautiful effects like water or light beams. Yes, Klonoa was truly catapulted into the next generation and shows once again that even with the power of Wii beautiful and especially polyphonic games are possible.
Have also changed the voice samples. There are now real voice, but this is likely to dub as bad. Maybe I also think only so because the beeping of the characters from the original simply marked somehow. Who is the opinion of the old beep sounds of the characters must belong to this switch and so enjoy a bit more from Klonoa cult but of course. The brilliant OST was adopted 1: 1 and also scores now by good quality more than just a catchy supplies.
Further additives which have been built next to the famous jukebox and an additional level, and a Mirror Mode, Time Attack and a film gallery. All relative basics, but it shows the good will of developers. The main game is characterized, however, not very extended, but this is not the end. The main game features, despite the relatively small playing time sufficient incentive more often to put it in the console and who the time invested in each level all will find again have equal so much fun, because only those who place everything will benefit the entire packet, is so explore all ways in the various worlds and also can end up dusting all bonuses.
Klonoa is really a recommendable game that should be in every Wii collection. Although it is "only" a remake, but a the great attention to detail and sprayed for a change really times have justified seems. Not only the beautiful graphics and music, but also the proven gameplay are an absolute guarantee of fun and old fans as well as newcomers to the series tie against the console. Buy Absolutely!
