If you do not already know, Superman defeated Brainiac and found the mark on the villain. Without revealing too much, we must begin "New Krypton" knowing that "Man of Steel" discovered that Brainiac collected for centuries, the cities of several missing planets, by miniaturizing them. Having found the lost city of Kandor, Superman brings it back to Earth and managed to free her. 100,000 Kryptonian, all having the same powers that our heroes are now on Earth. Past the moments of joy and gladness, things will be complicated ...
The saga itself is captivating and well designed. Despite its status as a crossover often fictitious event as dictated by commercial imperatives basely (plus there is superheroes and bastons, there was more of event, there was more success ...), we feel that the authors (respectively Geoff Johns, James Robinson and Sterling Gates) took the matter seriously and are passionate about their project. This passion is contagious and I think any fan of Superman will be snapped up by all these adventures and the dramaturgy.
Cohabitation and the obvious opposition between land and Kryptonian bringing all sorts of tensions, the writers we develop a full subtext substance on racial and cultural conflicts. More than ever, the people of Krypton appears as a colonialist threat of major symbolic and revise our own Western civilizations, echoing the real conflicts that plague our world today. The US obviously enjoying not find themselves suddenly in a weak position ...
For the rest, the saga is well tucked although sometimes cacophonous. The set is still high quality and justifies the usual fighting between the main figures of the universe concerned. The great battle between the JLA in Kryptonian, for example, here is perfectly logical, while the usual conflicts of the kind that intervening do all these heroes of free and commercial way ...
