After I've read through a lot of tests on notebooks and Ultrabooks, I finally ended up with ASUS UX305FA-FB003H.
What I have found:
The purchase decision much ultimately inter alia because of the price. Direct competitors with similar flat design and similar features, such as the Macbook Air, are several hundred euros more expensive at the moment.
With the brand ASUS I had previously had a good experience, so I bought the Zenbook locally at the next dealer in the 256GB variant.
I have the Zenbook for a little over a week in operation and really pleased with this Ultrabook!
The build quality is good to very good. Through the aluminum used makes the Zenbook UX305FA a sophisticated look and can not be great bend or twist. When folded, the notebook is wonderfully flat and takes in a bag a small space.
The display is absolutely amazing! The high resolution combined with the IPS panel makes a very nice pixel-free image. The matt surface can work in a wide variety of lighting conditions or HD movies look through the 265GB SSD is also enough space for it.
The computing power of Zenbooks will certainly set any records. This claim represents ASUS but also not. For everyday tasks, the computing power of the Intel Core M-5Y10 processor is sufficient. It has almost never wiggled something you must also ascribe the quite potent HD5300 graphics chip. 8GB of RAM for a notebook of this category is more than adequate.
From (in comparison) lower processing power resulting namely that the notebook a) fanless and b) has a battery life of just 10 hours! This is absolutely awesome!
My previous Netbook held due to a defective battery just half an hour. Because I feel the same Zenbook a piece of free and independent;)
And to be honest: I'd rather have twice as much battery life than twice as much computing power, which is then hardly used.
Facilities at UX305FA can not say much negative. USB 3.0, Micro HDMI, omnidirectional jack connection are at the start, that's enough me completely. One LAN port can be supplemented via USB dongle, but is not really needed thanks WLAN ac.
The keyboard can work wonderfully. The layout is well chosen, you have to make any compromises and (as I have experienced) adjust to a shorter Backspace No, that's all normal-sized. Only a keyboard lighting you're looking for in this Ultrabook in vain what I think is a pity.
All in all, a really successful work on ASUS. Graphically rich games you will thus can not play and a desktop replacement it will not be for many users. But as a second unit, which can be taken anywhere, the ASUS UX305FA is ideally suited. Because of the few criticisms I have of the device, it has earned a 5 star in my opinion. Clear recommendation from me!
