Since I anyway do not very often use a tripod (mostly due to time constraints), it does not bother me if the establishment of the Gorillapod takes a little longer until the image was taken right section and the alignment is straight. But one has also to a standard tripod also benefits, as the attachment to branches, fences, etc. sometimes upside down is no problem.
What I noticed is negative when using the camera with a pre-mounted filter that apparently the weight of downward sloping shots is a little too big already and the tripod then gives something. But you should know that the little Gorillapod is not suitable for gaining too much weight anyway.

Those looking for a very small, lightweight and relatively stable tripod is best served with this safe Gorillapod.
