Looking for a neat trip Zoom I first tried the Sigma 18-250 and the Tamron 18-270. Both could not convince me. The Canon 18-135 with STM I had initially because of the price (not everyone can afford L lenses) back burner. That Canon then asked again almost 30 euros for matching sun visor I find outrageous. Ultimately, I have but then decided to go for the Canon lens and that was a good thing. For the price range, I find the build quality is absolutely in order. Since rattles or wobbles nothing, the tube moves to the perpendicular of not by itself and the plastic makes a high quality impression. The lens is due to its diameter and weight well in hand. The autofocus sits precisely, working quickly and quietly.
Of course, the Bilqualität not on a par with a fixed focal length. You can convince over the entire zoom range yet. Distortion is slightly higher than for example the Sigma 18-250, but can be easily corrected. As well as chromatic aberrations. I work with DxO Optics Pro 9, so goes the really very simple. The less to focal length does not bother me. For the sharpness is so good that Ausschnittvergrößerrungen are no problem. Incidentally, I have ordered the sun visor of Profox. Fits perfectly and costs one-third from the original part.
In retrospect, I'm glad to have opted for the Canon lens. I would buy it again.
