Bruce gives us in the middle of his second career spring (which was heralded by the splendid The Rising) again a strong plate. He is very clear on the strengths of the E-Street Band. No other band on the planet plays so: always energized dampfwalzend and flat making, without subtlety, but with fire and passion. The defiant dance on the precipice, his head held high and loudly declaiming. With Clarence Clemons, the inventor of the roaring sax solos on the front line (its imitators have unfortunately never understood that it is not enough only to tubes - but that does not go to his boss differently). Magic is a legitimate, direct successor of "Born in the USA". This you should know there are certainly people who always just a love to hear from the two hearts beating in Bruce's chest. The beauty and the disturbing of albums like Nebraska and Tom Joad is not here. One could also annoyed that Bruce sacked his chord box and a few too many echoes has built on older songs such as Bobby Jean. If this is done, escapes a fine plate created as for the stage and enjoyed at the right volume, absolutely sweeps. And with Radio Nowhere Bruce has a strong contender for single of the year in store. A plate like a charm from which indeed you know how it works, but nevertheless knows how to bewitch.
