For years I have been running my HTPC with a WLAN adapter Digitus USB 2.0 flash drive. This can be had for under 10 euros, is fully stable, saves space, provides good reception, and reached out for the traffic that is required for watching a HD video from YouTube and the likes. Why am I compelled by Sharp, a thick Brummer of stick for at least 60 euros to buy, the case still has lousy reception? The stick in my Sharp LC60LE652E 152.4 cm (60 inches) 3D LED backlight TVs, EEK A + (Full HD, 200Hz AM, DVB-T / CS / S2, CI +, SmartTV, HbbTV) is black about 3 meters from the next router away, with no obstructions in between. Without the help of the (probably for good reason) enclosed extension cord, it is not possible to obtain full reception. The cable I can achieve that if I stick the stick in a certain angle to the rear wall. The cable is long enough that the stick is behind the TV otherwise visible. This is not particularly elegant, especially if the TV is mounted on the wall. The stick itself is indeed well-made, but also so thick that it rests in a waiver of the cable almost the chassis. It's actually bad enough that Sharp the WLAN function is not integrated in a 1400 Euros TV, or a stick is. Then for good money to settle such a thick Brummer with weak signals, is almost outrageous. Customers whose routers are further away, will come to the purchase of a wireless repeater hardly around. Again 30 to 50 euros extra. Is it worthwhile for the network functions of the OA TV? Yes, if the TV is set conventionally. No, if you already have a Media Computer / HTPC. I would like to stress that I am very well satisfied with the above TV still here. Also, it has a certain charm, if you can watch missed programs directly on the TV online. However, it is unacceptable that these additional functions, a special WLAN stick is sold, the cost many times over normal WLAN sticks and, moreover, offers such a poor reception. 3 stars
