In times where pop songs with thumping beats and house music elements rule the charts, published Beyoncè now an album that sounds like a timeless R'n'B. This is Beyonce's fourth studio album and therefore was given the simple name "4".
Anticipation should be noted that increasing the title of the album to pace up to the famous "Beyoncè'schen R'n'B". Opener is the ballad "1 + 1" although a few instruments manages but through Beyoncè lives expressive voice. Although the drum-heavy "I Care" triggers an almost menacing mood, but goes no further into the ear. The sensual "I Miss You", the nearly 30-year-old singer convinced with an emotional interpretation. The soulful "Best Thing I Never Had" is the latest single from the album and makes quite an impressive figure, because the title was written by singer-songwriter "Babyface". The Billboard Millennium Award winner in this very song from her ex-boyfriend. She tells about having that thought they found someone who is good for them, but soon there is the opposite out and he shows his true colors. "Party" is reminiscent of famous Beyonce hits and will probably not take my opinion, tastes of the audience. "Rather Die Young" sounds at first next to the songs "Start Over" and written by "Diane Warren" "I Was Here" to peaceful sounds. With "Love On Top" Beyonce offers a tribute to "Michael Jackson" and to the "Jackson Five" and thus created his own style an evergreen to stage. "Countdown" and "End Of Time" it can then sometimes big blast and provide danceable club feeling. Rounding out the album by Beyonce's single "Run The World (Girls)".
The special edition of the album offers three club mixes of "Run The World (Girls)" songs "Lay Up Under Me", "Schoolin` Life" and "Dance For You" the title can reminisce the music style earlier 80s. The booklet of the CD features all lyrics and information and very interesting photos of Beyonce, in different styles and outfits.
Beyoncé's voice beguiles undoubtedly, but even after repeated listening to the longplayer I must admit that the songs do not really stay stick to my ears, although an interpreter and producers have done a good job unmistakable. And though critics-reviewed album a flop before publication, I still rate it valuable with honors because "4" is clearly to continue the exemplary career of Beyonce.
