First impression: metal casing, solid build quality, elegant and minimalistic. Witzig (and getting used to), the slide switch for on-off and display mode. For a compact relatively large and heavy, but is ok.
Second look: The camera offers the manual controls that can appreciate in the D-SLR and love has learned. The menus are a bit strange for me, but that's a matter of taste.
And then pitched the manual (if one can call the PDF of it) - and it starts:
- The Smart Auto detects quite reliable the particular environmental situation and adjusts the exposure parameters accordingly. Will probably be the default with me as opposed to D-SLR. Even in automatic mode, you still lush settings
- Numerous scene modes cover the commercial Spielkram from, but also offer real treat: So you can shoot with the HDR function, a bracketing, which is automatically combined into one perfectly exposed image. A function for manual night shots performs multiple recordings to a sharp together - is being sharply indeed to be relative, the results can be but in any case see. The Panorama function is well solved: while panning the camera are continuous fire "from a corresponding number of images you can of course put a pretty good result.
- Continuous shooting is standard - you'd think. Here you can select different speeds with different behaviors. Where not too many shots are taken, which can not on my map (class 10).
- The ability to create 3D images, I want to mention, even if I can not judge the quality.
- The camera also makes it possible to superscribed photos, this seems to be read but only with the supplied software.
The recordings convince both wide-angle as well as the zoom range. Also the noise behavior is acceptable. A real highlight is the image stabilizer: With 1/4 sec I broke my test series.
Since videos are not my world, I will spare me and the readers evaluate this function.
The software seems a bit thin to me; an assessment I can save, I use Photoshop and therefore could only be unfair.
Negative views:
- The Menüwahlrad is not suitable for large hands: one can use it only from the side, but is cumbersome. Can grab one hardly.
- Once the Zoom Amok me went ": Although I had let go of the zoom lever, the zoom raced in the respective direction.
For equipment and technology:
- First of all: Actually, one should expect that accompanies a camera in this price range at least one memory card for 5 euros - does not, therefore no rating. But wanted it to have said ...
- Also a bag I would have liked.
- I would have liked a manual in printed form; settled was just a quick reference guide for the purposes of Getting Started "
- Positive: The camera also accepts SDXC cards.
- Negative: A battery charger is not provided, the battery is in the camera charged (approx 4.5 hrs.). When given 230 images per charge compared to my photographing performance I would like to see a spare battery; probably I have to resort to a third party. Over the length of the charging cable, there are some opinions; me it is enough.
- Neutral: The product description mentions GPS, this is not done by the camera. Neutral because errors on the product page and not a product defect.
Conclusion: Convincing performance in image quality, workmanship and functionality. Low equipment defects are present, but do not qualify for a deduction of points in my opinion.
