So I said, done and well, there's really something to it. But in order.
The cooler comes in a 2-part plastic packaging, which is a bit fiddly to open. An ordinary cardboard box would have been as sure nice (and certainly more expensive). The heatsink makes from a processing perspective, a good impression, the fan on the other hand looks more "economical to manufacture," but there are certainly worse.
First is for mounting the fan from the heat sink to remove, so that you, the supplied bracket (only required for AMD) attach and tighten the two screws afterwards can. This is quite easy with a wide blade screwdriver and a little feeling in his fingers. That one can go something breaks like other write is my opinion unlikely, since you have to apply already considerable violence.
Then the angles are hooked into the lugs on the processor socket and again tightened the screws with some emotion. That's about the fummeligste part of the installation. Took with me when installed approx 5 min.
After that is still the fan snapped on again and to join the board.
A disadvantage of this design is that you no longer comes close to the screw below the fan in order to be tightened again a little later but that should not really be necessary.
For cooling performance:
I use SpeedFan to regulate the fan. This allows the fan speed very well and finely dosed set up. 2000 rpm. From 1000 rpm the fan is then but already good to hear, because it runs a little rough. That was almost to be expected.
Since I have my system converted to beQuiet Shadow Wings SW1 fan at the same time, I had a direct comparison, what is still possible, and so I have the original fan replaced directly against a with 120mm of beQuiet. I think the cooling power is with the original fan also fine, but I have not seen.
The cooler itself is now absolutely silently cooled by said Shadow Wing fan for my ears (at 400-800UPM) and keeps the CPU at maximum load at 50 ° C. So I wanted to have.
Positives:
- Very compact design, making it suitable for smaller housing
- With other fans almost silently operated
Negatives:
- Only original fan properly attach as special mount another fan fit innately not (got my fixed with magnet wire, not so nice but also goes)
Conclusion:
- Cooling capacity for smaller CPUs to say 90W perfectly adequate
- Level of craftsmanship: good heatsink, fan sufficient to good
- Installation: (for AMD systems) well doable with a little skill, Attention: airflow shows with me toward the power supply, ie upwards
- Volume: but at medium speeds silently not silently when a slight noise does not interfere with safe OK
- Value for money: overall still good (as I did not use the original fan personally rather enough for me)
