I love the medieval stories or we interact chivalry and harsh living conditions. So the story of the novel is very interesting and solid storyline. The author has done his homework. Military issues are not tied to the trailer frame of love. Weaknesses: the two characters represent too much of masculine / feminine archetypes. I have nothing against a very manly character, but there are limits. One has the impression of having a Hulk growling and meets all the clichés of the raw, strong man ... As for the female character, she was often exasperating. Young and naive, she hopes to find true love, either, but when she is frustrated that her man does not notice his small decorative centerpieces as he must manage a village, lead a secret military commando and make war .... er ... Minute pompom. In short, I liked it, but I had a little trouble believing the main characters. Added: (August 23, 2014) Following this comment, I had decided not to continue this series. I held in the decision long enough. For cons, I could not help but read reviews on the following volumes. The vast majority of the comments were very positive. I wondered if I had a second chance to leave this saga to conquer me. Well, I have to retract, I just finished Volume 3 La Vigie and I must admit that I have greatly appreciated Volume 2 and Volume 3. The protagonists are different in Volume 1. Volume 1 is really not up my alley, for the reasons I listed above, but the result is worth it !!!
