Courage to take risks

After I now have daily TrekStor eBook Reader 3.0 for over a week in use and have therefore read the 1,500 pages, I think I can give a reasonable review. For unit itself, I do not need much to write, here is referred to them in the description and also in other reviews. But why I want to say something is the daily everyday use. Device was delivered very fast with me on, battery was summoned.
Some excerpts of books waiting already installed, but then again this was removed because not completely. The problems described in terms of key response and battery power are then also I noticed very quickly.
So I thought, is indeed nothing else than a small computer: maybe there is a firmware update. Bingo, on the homepage of Trekstor [...] I found then also the last current Upadate for my readers (+ eBR30_WB HD_1.0.10_20120214). However, have the Weltbild and Hugendubel version, so check the version on the Reader during the update only once, otherwise you go wrong. So update easily installed according to instructions and lo and behold, the buttons respond suddenly better and the battery lasts much longer than previously. Minimum is now 4 hours but rather goes towards 5 hours. The promised 8 hours but still not reached.
What the update also brings: it sends the reader to standby mode and the device is no longer used for more than half an hour, it switches off automatically complete. What in my opinion is not so bad if you have loaded his eBooks on the internal memory. Had initially all on one 32GB SDHC Micro SD memory card, here the load times were already uncomfortable at a restart. Now have all my eBooks copied to the internal memory and only the music and a few pictures on the external memory card. Thus, the device is again ready to read in a good 20 seconds.
The problem that the reader could not remember the last read pages is gone since the update. Can indeed handle the fact that you sit bookmarks, but now and then you forget about this sometimes. Can it therefore only recommend the update run, is really not difficult and also well described.
Reading now having a brightness of 30% and with white letters on a black background. Reduce eye more, black font on a white background hard in my opinion the eyes in the long run too much on.
In summary, I can say: to update a good device for a reasonable price. Even during the charging phases via external power supply (not via USB) can be easily read. Who only wants to read and also in the evening sometimes without light (so that he might not disturb his partner while sleeping) is well served by the part. One star deduction for the battery power.

Having now a good six months on a regular basis have the Reader in use and determined as early as the 10 - have 15,000 pages read an update of the review.

The starting speed can be further increased to a few seconds, if you leave out the SD card. As already written, invite all e-books in the internal memory, then take the turn-significantly less than 10 seconds.
The change to black background with white text only works with epub. With PDF, the font color does not change, so therefore black background with black writing.
Otherwise, I very satisfied with the device and do not regret the purchase.
