Oh, Resident Evil Revelations 2. What can you say?
Hope The fans of the series and expect a "Back to the roots" game and the Friends of the shooter genre want to the
"Resident Evil 6" style tie. I think in the case of Revelations 2 Capcom it is very good to find a middle ground.
Because we are honest - Capcom wants the die-hard fans of the zero hour - and also the gamers (like me RE 1 still on the PS1 the times, with the fixed camera were) satisfy, the only starting part 4 or 5 or even part 6 are increased. And consequently, it is certainly understandable that Capcom wants to serve both sides and should also accept. If someone does not find great, one can indeed "Resident Evil 1 Remaster" or "Call of Duty" buy ...
Now to the game itself. I'll spoilers in this review as little as possible and concern myself only with the game itself!

Main game (story), RAID mode and Extras:
By controlling of 2 protagonists in each episode (there are 4 episodes) - it is the part of Claire & Moira or with Barry & Natalia - is the protector instinct out something. I write something deliberately, because the AI ​​(as far as I have experienced so far) can not die. Sometimes the AI ​​even thinks really well with, for. Example by means of a flashlight to hide afflicted with Moira and the AI ​​(in the form of Claire) performs a melee attack. Sometimes, however, this is also bad and the AI ​​just stands around. Due to the two bonus episodes (each about 45 minutes extra gameplay with Moira & Natalia), which provides the retail version, the whole story is very well rounded package. Furthermore, the two bonus episodes for Moira and Natalia provide two additional costumes which fit well in my opinion better than the other alternative costumes. Overall, the story playing time is about 7-10 hours - depending on playing style.
The additional modes such as Invisible mode or Time mode can / must be the main game but (if one is chasing alongside zombies even trophies) by playing at least 3 times.

Audio, text output and control:
At least if you listen instead of the German, the English audio track. The German dubbing is really creepy and will play title Resident Evil absolutely fair. Therefore recommended to the English language edition and German subtitles to play (here you have at least something to follow the feeling the protagonist emotionally and who the English is not powerful - also because the translations are sometimes questionable - can read the German subtitles). The menu I find a clear and structured and orderly and the manual will also explain the control - which is incidentally learned situationally even with game introduction, since the control is slightly different than in Resident Evil Revelations 1, but in no worse or better.
