Wireless issues often described, I had none, but I had only 4 element in use (1 switch, 1 Shutter Switch, Dimmer 1 and 1 door guard) during the two-day trial period.
The software I would have expected in the 80s, because it is extremely user-unfriendly. It starts with the fact that all are displayed with the internal system codes. While you can assign your own name, but which are as often not displayed in the programming steps. Although I had installed so few elements that confusion was noticeable. Certainly, with increasing time to invest, you can definitely get used to the software. But this is where my criticism. I want to concern myself with the actually processes (which switches when and how), instead of me with poor software. In a navigation system nor do I set up my system to the characteristics of satellites, but simply give only the target address. From such operation the HomeMatic system light years away - and, sorry, which I think is no longer appropriate.
Another criticism: Even the really very probable task of a light-exchange circuit is not readily achievable, but requires a further component in the second switch and appropriate programming. Even my cable I need to re-boarded in the cans. Documented that is neither in the CCU instructions nor in the documentation for Exchange itself.
While I can time-controlled trigger actions, but I lack the ability to implement a random deviation from fixed times in order to allow for the presence simulation.
On the Internet you will find many tips and information about the system. There is also some people probably managed to realize a presence simulation, but only with the native scripting language. For this you have to invest some energy but time.
The AC circuit needs no script, and thanks to internet research I can imagine now how I could do that. Meanwhile, I have but clearly lost the desire and send everything back.
Review:
I had just got the delivery of the system and the automation of lighting and shutters. All the more disappointed I was by the implementation options. I'm not willing to take me weeks to incorporate into the system to automate only a few switches. In principle, I would certainly eventually manage to my concern is whether I would understand in a few years even anything if I want to change the system somewhat.
Conclusion:
For people who are willing to invest a lot of time and get used to the Bedienungsunfreundlichkeit, the system offers great opportunities with security.
People who want to establish with a reasonable effort a little automation, I can not recommend the system.
