The health benefits of turmeric is for thousands of years
known; which often (not without justification) touted as a miracle cure
Spice is used for example for osteoarthritis treatment (anti-inflammatory)
the active ingredient curcumin has also antioxidant and anti-cancer effects.
The uptake of curcumin improved the way immensely by combining
with black pepper (by the contained piperine).
Together with other seasoning ingredients is the positive effect
increased from turmeric.
My favorite recipe is the spice yogurt from Dr. Feil, with
Chili, ginger, turmeric and cinnamon
(Also because it is made very fast and a great complement to the breakfast is).
So all in all a very versatile spice that India not only in the
Kitchen tastes good!
