My choice fell on the Electric Ukulele VUKE of Vintage / John Hornby Skewes. Unfortunately, the information layer product was a bit poor, but my risk purchase has - in my opinion - well worth it!
One reason for my choice was the appearance of the instrument. The ukulele is modeled in form of an electric guitar. The black paint looks in real pretty cool. Transitions or seams are not visible, the surface is designed so surprisingly beautiful.
The entire front is quite minimalist. The ukulele is already provided with strings which (surprisingly few) are not particularly famous, but could be a lot worse. So they are about - my tastes accordingly - not too thick, so I have them still on it.
The vertebrae are not classic, but angled, which in my opinion, the voices more easily designed. The above-mentioned strings have been able to keep their mood halfway after a few days.
For electronic part: There is a piezo pickup built, according to the label "Passive Tone Control PS-900". At the top of the body are two sliders (volume of 0-10, Tone from -15 to +15). There is a 6.35mm output socket at the bottom.
With the ukulele itself can play indeed audible but quiet. Real fun the whole but only if one amplifies the signal and outputs via headphones or speakers. I use this a VOX amPlug (AC30) with headphones and am fully satisfied. However, I notice that you have to adjust the VOL control relatively loud to get a decent signal.
All in all a pretty nice instrument, or perhaps rather a music gadget. As Primärinstument it is probably not suitable, but for fun, or to generate the ukulele a few "British Invasion" sounds, it's just great.
