The following review is written on the D270. I must say that it's my first netbook, so I can not draw any comparisons to other models. I would also like to thank Amazon for a really lightning fast shipping. There's nothing faster. The overall impression of the netbook is very positive. First, I installed Win7 Professional from a USB flash drive and all of its drivers. That all went smoothly, but I had some problems with the Wi-Fi, because the driver was not working. I realized then that 3 different drivers have been offered on the Acer website. However, only one works, namely the Broadcom. The stated battery life of 8 hours is of course not go. In battery mode, I will very quickly displayed a maturity of 6 hours, and then this time is, of course, depends heavily on how much the netbook has to do. I had read that in a model with Atom N2600 Asus no fan was used, since the power consumption of the processor is only 3.5 Watts. In Acer a fan is installed, however, it is hard to hear. The hard drive can be heard only when one puts his ear to the netbook. The performance of the processor is as expected not outstanding, but few buy a netbook at home to gamble with it.

Whether the gaming performance would increase with an installed DirectX driver I do not know.
