But from the beginning, what is at stake in Cryostasis?
You are a Russian polar explorer who locates trapped in ice a Russian icebreaker.
Here you can stroll down the road to find out what happened there, why the ship around is frozen here and especially where the crew has remained or what fate befell.
In the usual first-person view is relatively slow running (compared to today's FPS) by a very atmospheric icy icebreaker world. The makers have invested a lot of effort into the extremely very hardwarehunrige Engine. The spectacle this happens again and again, if one turns into an icy dark room the light and begins to melt slowly through the marginal heat the ice and dripping from the ceiling.
And there is also the biggest drawback to this great game but atmospherically, the high hardware requirements for a smooth gaming pleasure.
Although I must say that I got along very well with my present appeal class PC (even on my laptop it ran up on some few places almost smooth). The other problem begins then unfortunately on while fighting. While all melee weapons were no problems, the long-range combat was not always the best. Mainly in the submachine gun PPSh the frame rate going strong at sustained fire down, which greatly complicates an agile targets.
But if you can overlook these problems, it is one of the few secrets that I can recommend it and also would like.
Ungern I would like spoilers and the story (which is why even the cryptic title and the rough outline of what you do on the ice-breaker) to anticipate, so I leave it at that and come to the result.
A very harmonious, atmospheric game that mixes with Gorky's short story. Interesting tasks within the game, the last minute to pass surprising things, but in context it makes sense. Who many things ignored, deliberately excludes, or does not think about something is 'only' experiencing a slow FPS in ice and konfusem end.
Why now still full credit for but partly affecting things at play?
As for me personally this certainly annoying for many people end things have actually not diminish the fun. If a so attracts the game in its path and I have thus also begun active to read a lot more of Gorky himself, then the game has apparently made very many things right.
And since it is a controversial secret and remains, I would advise everyone who plays with the idea of wanting to buy it, that you try the demo version before (mainly because of the hardware requirements).
Thank you for reading!
