DC5V are probably DV12V

I had the chain of purchases in the hope that the chain with 5 volts DC can be operated. A look at the power adapter supplied also confirmed imprint AC / DC Adapter, Model HY-009, Input 100V-240V AC 50/60 Hz, Output DC 5V 1A. The more astonished I was when I was measured with a measuring instrument, a voltage of 12 volts at the barrel connector.

Unfortunately, it is not clear whether a series resistor for the LEDs there. Perhaps this is so housed together with a voltage transformer in the housing of the power adapter. But I did not want to see also.

The luminosity of the chain is really great, the LEDs light in a pleasant warm white light. The thin wire is very inconspicuous and extremely flexible. So you can create or bend for example, figurines on the chain.

In short, who is still lying around an adapter to German Euro-connector (the power supply has the connections shown, it is not supplied adapter!) Who gets a bright and pleasant white luminous, 10m long and very flexible light string.

Who needs an LED chain, which can be operated with 5V, should look for a chain which is operated by three 1.5V batteries and this umbasteln accordingly. And that's what I'll do once I have sent this chain back.
