The advantages of Mary n'diaye: individual style, where secrets unfold gradually, emotional strength. A disappointment for the history of these three women. The average first leaves me on my end. The second seems to me to be poor in diving, the head of a man half crazy and this is his story rather than his wife. The third is the saddest but the best. The link between these three women is virtually nonexistent. Emotions are sometimes completely exaggerated. Every thing done, an emotion is described. I did not understand the allegories with the tree in the first story, nor the bird in the second story. I find it vulgar and meaningless, the fact that the first urine heroin on her, that man is scratching unrestrained buttocks and allusions to sex. Maybe it worth to a denunciation of the status of women in general? But I do not understand why this book had there at such a price and given the number of written negative reviews!
