Amateur photographer for 30 years, I was successively SLR Minolta, Pentax and Nikon I work since 1998. I bought the XM1 as the second box next to my Nikon D90 to the rave reviews his X-Trans sensor, the reputation of devices "not easy" Fujifilm and quality of 16-50 Zoom kit provided. Result after 6 months: I rarely used. I very much regret the lack of viewfinder, because the target live view is frankly not convenient, much less than with a Lumix compact example. Too bad for me, I did not want to invest in a more upscale Fuji. That said, even if the screen did not appear the strong point in the comments, I expected better. Even disappointment on the MAP. MAP autofocus in low light becomes difficult and impossible at night and MAP manu infinity gave me ds blurry photos. That said, next to a lot of waste, I made the correct images. So I'm not going down this camera in this comment. But even for a knowledgeable and experienced photographer, XM1 seems request a taming even an apprenticeship. This is a case which makes modest. Manufacturing quality side, it seems a little cheap. So be careful to shocks. A good point now on ergonomics. With its many knobs, I feel to work in manual as time the silver. Missing is a diaph ring on the lens. Finally, a notice halftone but that no mistake on my conclusion: a good device but which demands a learning curve and adaptation even more so when we discover the brand.
