As for documentation, it is a simple page, in English. It indicates to climb the tree chat starting from the top, and climb the elements one by one, to the bottom. Each piece is identified with a letter on the sheet, but also on her own rooms, so no problem. A plastic bag contains the different screws, and a tool to tighten.
At screws: they are all long but two: the two smaller screws used to fix the scale.
Then, the documentation does not indicate where the washers use is: if you look at the photos, you will see that the two washers are utilsier under the base of the cat tree.
The tool comes with will not survive very long: it must be a very modern alloy as "soft". As and when mounting the cat tree, the tool deforms and eventually not work at all. You will have to have something to replace the tool: it takes 5 mm as shown in the photo by Allen key. To facilitate assembly, so I recommend a 5 mm Allen key and a 5 mm Allen head mounted on a little dizzy Allens key.
I put a photo of the tree, once mounted. The adjustment is OK, and ca holds flat. The cat visible on the photo to 6 months, and it has no particular difficulty. I think it apart to remove the lower left plate because my cat does not use it, and this hinders the use of the lower left foot as a scraper for cat scratch.
The cat tree is not very big so if you have a big cat, he may have trouble holding the cat basket or return to the small house (my cat never goes there).
I also advise you to vacuum all the carpets prior to installation: it's full of wood dust, and my cat sneezed when she sniffed the carpet mounted thereon.
It would have to be larger, as the elements are further apart, and that the mounting tool is in something other than metal "soft". A lost star for this last detail.
