Installation:
The LogiLink Sound Box installed without problems under XP and 7. These two system variants I've tried. But be careful! Without the attached on the CD drive, the box is not completely installed, and it still does not work all the outputs! In my case, for example, worked the headphone jack is not, but only the front output. So not there remain but completely install! The box must be connected, otherwise the program says it can not find a box.
Technically the box is a completely self supported sound card. It is recognized as a new device.
Sound Quality:
One advance - I have not tried the whole Dolby area, because I do not need it. But all outputs functioned in individual tests.
I am working every day and professionally with music, so with the Tonqualitätsunterschieden I am quite familiar. I tested with "AEG K271 MkII" but also with perfectly ordinary headphones. The sound quality is relatively good and complies with all other normal, fully functioning sound card and is not worse but not better.
Conclusion:
The LogiLink Sound Box is a good sound card. Also a great alternative and worthy extension / replacement for inferior or defective standard (onboard) -Sondkarten. It provides all common sample rates and enables an image of the same reproduced sound source (eg the Internet). There are no interruptions in the function of a sound transmission or whatever. For everyday use of the sound world who only require absolutely sufficient and recommended. Buy!
