Charming roguelike!

Wayward Souls (App)

Customer Review

I really have to admit that I am surprised that so few reviews here deal with the game itself but much is grumbling about "Circle Game". Well, to each his own, I find the Log as not so tragic.

But the game itself: "Wayward Souls" a lovely little roguelike is the entertains me pretty good. FYI for people who do not know what rogue Likes are: Man explores with his hero dark dungeons and caves and often struggling with an action combat system against enemies and villains. One dies, the character is dead forever, and you have to start from scratch. In order for the Error & Trial randomly generated dungeons are not too similar to most used. Generally, therefore more for people with patience, who have no problem if one hour of work a sword, arrow, magic falls victim.

This is the case also here. After a short intro, you can his character of a team of 3 heroes choose (+3 Unlockable) and start the adventure. Worth mentioning here is also a little skill system, which granted a by buying gold coins for smaller passive bonuses that endure despite further character death.

Now it proposes itself as a Warrior, Rogue or Mage (free playable as the adventurer is a class) through the first dark dungeons, thereby collect coins and items, and seeks treasures or forging for enhancing armor or weapon. Each character has his own motives and thereby backgrounds for exploring the ruins and these short stories are told between the various levels of nice pictures. Even otherwise, the story is more interesting than other MMN App representatives of this type, such as "Pixel Dungeon", but of course it is a minor matter.

Control goes after a short good of the hand and also the charming pixel graphics and nice sound could be surprised pleasantly. From dark caves, stone walls to threatening forests one has much to offer.

There are many different levels of Dia to explore and territories and the degree of difficulty is quite crisp, but makes repeatedly on a round of fun. Most of all I like the fact that there is a small skill system which always hunting for gold is interesting (Each character has here several own passive skills and a skill with passive bonus applies to all characters) and the various Charas play pleasantly different , The warrior with his vigorous sweeping blow, the villain of slipping through enemies and the magician misses the energy balls, to get their own items, improvements and other skills. Is also very nice to be next to coins, jewels and Co will also find different hats and can attract the Chars. Once found, they remain unlocked for each Char.

Conclusion: Beautiful little roguelike that you can bring out for a lap time and again. Sound, optics and scope know to please the different stories loosen it to pleasant and the skill system, different unlockable characters and random dungeons round it off nicely. For me, a great game for in between!
