I have about 10 pieces of this model used in the last two years in order to create more LAN connections fast, stable and cost-effective in offices with few LAN ports. Intentionally, the same model was always used and placed on top of two others as a substitute to the camp. Netgear has repeatedly changed the external power supplies in the barrels of the time, the more recent have an on / off switch, the elderly do not. I feel the switch as disturbing, because the switches run continuously to printers and laptops - and should not be turned off accidentally. For occasional use desktop switch is certainly a great way to save power and to protect the environment.
The device has a stable-sounding metal chassis and heats up hardly, however, many of the devices after a while loose contacts at the ports, the 'hang' disconnects and switches can perform. The use of different cable / connector not led to stable operation, as the entire terminal strip is shaky / is.
I am going to replace all the models in use in developing faults and replace it with alternatives. The GS105E seems to be more robust, here so far nothing wobbles, however, is a smart switch for my application 'oversized' and I will use the Cisco SG100D-05, or Cisco SG100D-08.
