Important: Do not use the built-in tuner, the DVB-S / -C / -T receiver lie with me broke. I can say to their function pure nothing. My focus is on the operation with digital receiver, Blu-ray players, USB sticks and hard drives, notebook and of course the built-in DLNA client.

3D I have tried briefly: Works quite passable with the supplied shutter glasses, but is not my thing. After a short time I hums the skull.

Positives:
- Image quality is by manual setting in terms of color, sharpness, contrast and movement very well. Corresponding values ​​can be found on the web or you can take the time to try it out yourself.
- Non-reflective surface: Can also be next to the window are, without that day reflect the clouds in it.
- Highly suitable for football: No significant motion blur on fast pans, very good detail reproduction even at 720p. If 1080i is really fun, although you then still have to be closer to the screen to see the difference.
- The switch can be reproduced until the picture and sound from HDMI source is short.
- Overall, the device responds rather quickly to inputs and the menu is absolutely ok for my application
- USB memory sticks and hard disks are easily identified and quickly. NTFS and capacity> 1TB are no problem.
- When notebook monitor via HDMI and Full HD properly.
- USB ports provide correct 5V 500mA. Is also turned off shortly after the TV off. Is useful as a power supply for a digital / analog converter of the audio signal for wireless headphones.
- Switching between the external sources via remote control is easily solved.
Flawlessly Blu-ray playback on BD-E5500 -. Control the TV from the player remote control works without any additional settings. Upscaling the player with DVDs (SD resolution) is however superior to the TV far. Therefore adjust player fix to 1080p.
- Built-in DLNA client works well with PS3MediaServer. The television is practically all formats again, recognizes different subtitle and language tracks in MKV containers. Real-time transcoding by the server I have therefore not been used.
- Powerful wireless module in the 5GHz band. Despite two walls and a fitted kitchen between Access Point (Asus RT-N56U) and television I have no dropouts observed in DLNA - not even with Full HD material with DTS sound (MKV> 30 GB).
- Logging into the wireless takes after pressing the power key until the date on which the DLNA server from the menu is selected, about 10 seconds. That's more than ok.

Negatives:
- Clouding: definitely a problem with this device. How strong it is, depends on the combination of starting material (DLNA playback particularly vulnerable) and ambient light (daytime or at room lighting not visible). Some movies / scenes with certain brightness distribution algorithms in the device for suppressing the highlight thing do not really seem to grasp. In others, the Clouding is almost perfectly pushed away, although the starting material is significantly darker and expected to actually stronger Clouding.
- Clouding in HDMI-feeding in significantly less and less (Blu-Ray, receiver), however, available.
- Viewing angle-dependent contrast: more oblique you can see on the picture, the more contrast is lost. While this is in principle the technique owed, but in my opinion this model particularly pronounced. In this discipline my 5 years old Samsung LCD is superior to this model by far.
- Wi-Fi at 2.4 GHz catastrophically bad: Regular dropout / hanger with 720p material. 1080p material depends only, is basically unusable. It regularly conducts crash playback (TV breaks playing with the message from, but one should check the network connection). With SMART-TV the same: Some Apps goodbye sang and toneless in wireless 2.4 GHz.
- DLNA client indeed works well with PS3MediaServer, forward and rewind is not supported. Is tolerable, since one in the Tools menu while playing fairly easy can perform a targeted jump to a time index and is relatively fast. Fast 5-minute jumps back and forth are also possible using the arrow keys. Before interrupts, you should therefore remember at which time the index has been.
- Headphone Jack: As usual with Samsung, interrupting connected headphones the speaker output. They therefore can not be connected, but must every time umstöpseln the set if you want to switch between headphones and speakers. Speakers and headphones so do not go at the same time. The socket is mounted even back of the device: For close wall mounting, taking advantage of the very flat design of the device, the headphone jack is no longer usable. If you take a transformer with 5V DC, you can tap the power supply into a USB port on the TV.

Neutral:
- Prima is that there is as Tune In App. Thus, the telly is the Internet Radio. With a Tune In -Account can manage their favorite stations and on the PC or smart phone and use the TV. Clumsy's just that the app has or does not allow screensaver. During the radio-listening can be seen always a static image on the screen.
- The unit works with the PlexMediaServer, the appropriate app for the TV is available. Although looks chic, but the features of the app are not really better than the built-in DLNA clients in conjunction with the PS3MediaServer. Exception: The PlexMediaServer also masters live streams of TV stations. The fact that the built-in DLNA client can not, of course. Unfortunately, the Plex app to the digital audio output every time on DTS what my there connected D / A converter in turn has not mastered. As a result, the connected headset then no longer work until you do not lurches back through the menu to set the output to PCM back.
- SMART TV -surface needs some time to boot up. One notices, however, only if you immediately press the corresponding button on the remote control immediately after switching on. Does the TV have a few minutes, the colorful screen but comes very fast.
- The sound of the built-in speaker is neither bad nor particularly good. For concert enjoyment anyway, the system must be angeschmissen or you just use good headphones.

Conclusion:
The device is ok for my taste. The only real drawback is particularly important in the DLNA tendency to clouding, which can be seen in practice at night in very dark scenes and movie enjoyment something can interfere. I can imagine that much less or even not occur with the built-in receivers and is better suppressed and therefore people do not complain about great. Even those who have the light in the room on, it will not notice.

That with the very poor 2.4 GHz reception I've almost expected and am therefore surprised at how easily it works at 5GHz. No comparison to the retrofitting variants of Samsung. So far I have therefore still laid a network cable, which I originally had in mind.

I have to keep the unit because:
a) I have paid considerably less than 700 euros, which is more than ok for the quality.
b) This is to avoid the clouding in this price range with the very flat LED devices barely.
c) The rest of the equipment is reliable and I was able to save the laying of a network cable to me even.

That is why three stars from me. Without Clouding it would have been five.
