The RJ45 connector is female (ie normal RJ45 cable into the adapter reingesteckt) and the RJ11 connector male, he is therefore inserted into another device.
Well suited to connect eg DSL modem or router to the splitter, because the splitter port (at least at the Telekom) uses RJ45, while some routers and modems for your DSL port (male) need RJ11 cable.
Just for this bridge I bought this cable: work :) No noticeable deterioration in the line (ie no lower transfer rate or higher CRC error count).
