Fits perfectly with the Surface Pro 2

The Type Cover 2 from Microsoft is probably the best solution, if you want to work productively with its Surface Pro. The only criticism is in my view only the price. 130 for a keyboard is already huge and unjustifiable with the admittedly very good quality and fingerprints when you consider that Bluetooth keyboards, which also operate not only on surface, in a comparable quality to have for not even half.

As already mentioned the quality of the keyboard is very good, the buttons are big enough and comfortable keystroke. From the feeling a desktop keyboard. A novelty at the Type Cover 2 is the lighting. This can be adjusted using two buttons in 4 stages: from and three brightness levels.

Somewhat small is the touchpad. Due to the size and the clear focus on the keyboard but quite understandable. The two buttons of the pad are well as the buttons on the Touch Covers. Normal keys as the keyboard would have been better here. It's getting used to but at a pinch it works. The rough surface and the wiping over the touch pad is difficult or requires a short acclimatization.

Nett is the built-in position sensor. If, for example, the keyboard folds back it will be automatically disabled. Thus, an accidental touch is avoided. Even when you close the keyboard, the Surface is put into sleep mode.

Mounting:
The Type Cover 2 is coupled by a magnet with the Surface. The keyboard keeps bombproof, you can lift up on the keyboard even the Surface Pro 2! It can be even completely twisting, so the keyboard is on the table as a base for the Surface. However, one should "wrong" around with the Surface dock the keyboard to the protected side is on the table and the keyboard can not be damaged.

Conclusion:
The Type Cover is the roundest and most practical solution for the Surface! Unfortunately not the cheapest: In addition to the touchpad of the price is my only complaint, which is why I also depart a star. 130 is just too much! I for my part would have on the button illumination (which also again somewhat reduces the battery life) can do without and it paid something less.

Small side note: Earlier this year, should not the "Power Cover" Microsoft appear, which is a Type Cover 2 with built-in battery.. The keyboard thus extends the battery life of the Surface! I suppose it will be minimal for thicker and determined as competing products cost about 200.

Addendum: Sometimes I take a faint electric crackle was as if the cover and surface were not well connected. Sounds at least not on health.
