The fact that Samsung SSDs are fast and reliable, you can read a thousand other reviews already, only the encryption chip is hardly mentioned. Therefore this my experience: It can only be activated at the BIOS level and then only if the computer's BIOS has the option to put an ATA password. That was with me even after a BIOS update is not the case. (The ATA password should not be confused with the standard BIOS password, with which you can protect access to the BIOS, and the BIOS has any). Conclusion: I can not use the AES encryption and use the SSD as a normal unencrypted SSD. Suggestion: I think it would be fair that should also be mentioned in the product description and the AES encryption of SSD (the Pro-series indeed different from others) can not be described as a standard function, but as an option, the one under can use favorable circumstances. Why only 4 stars.
