It plugs into a grounded outlet and has an outlet to avoid the waste of its connections. The Gigabit Ethernet port provided the best possible rates on the local network.
The Range Extender technology ensures a stable internet connection, better range and better rates. Apparently it uses three electrical son: the phase, neutral and earth.
My old apartment which is rather obsolete electrical installation (no earth connection except in the kitchen), jobtiens speeds similar to a kit CPL 500: 250 Mbit / s.
I test these 2 cases between my living room and my room for 3 weeks and I havent been no crash and no disconnection. I can copy the files to the other of a PC quickly and watch Netflix on my PS3 in full HD without any stutters. Overall flows are equivalent to those of my former Gigabit wired installation, the long cable 30 meters and less.
The downloadable software Devolo Cokpit on the website is very user friendly and lets you know in real time the flow of your network (at home it varies between 135 and 250 Mbit / s). This software also allows security daccroitre 2 CPL boxes by changing the encryption key (default HomePlugAV: common to all kits CPL market).
I recommend this kit CPL if you have excellent electrical installation. In an old house with electric landless taken a CPL 500 kit will be enough.
