Purchased in 2012 I still used today in 2015. When the install I had two disappointments. The first is that I could not use the function to adjust the sound via the remote control of the Philips TV through the HDMI ARC. We must therefore juggle a more remote. The second is that the front speaker cables are quite short. Luckily my previous owner had installed cables in the walls for a home theater, but otherwise it was tense literally. Also there is no optical socket, which makes the complicated connection with the new TVs. At home the coaxial jack is quite temperamental. If the signal is too weak there may be some cuts. I had to invest early in a good shielded cable before it was horror. I still meet a little problem sometimes, but I can not find the cause of the problem (I have many devices connected together). Then you have to make some adjustments depending on use. For watching TV or playing console 5.1 (multichannel) is top. In game we believe it! For music it is better to prefer the stereo mode for a more natural sound. The 5.1 Stereo mode to avoid this is a "upscaling" 2.1 to 5.1 which degrades the sound. It may be useful if you want to better locate your enemies on a stereo console but otherwise blah. Film and games it does the job well without too many problems and greatly improves the sound from that of the TV. In music this is clearly not a hi-fi system. By mounting the sound bass sound quickly saturated. The subwoofer is clearly not enough (and more moves on the floor with the vibrations) and spoils the good work of the speakers 5. Besides prefer the classic mode for a flat spectrum and avoid filling too quickly. DVD function works well even if not very intuitive to switch over. The input jack on the front is very connects a mobile device very easily. Its simple design is nice even if it attracts a lot of dust. The fact that the speakers have not feet is handy if you have furniture on ask. You can also hang them. So it does the job of a home theater without but in 2015, I really recommend it.
