What I most like about this lens is the luminous intensity, the excellent imaging performance, compactness, light weight and low price. Together with my Pentax * istDS this results in an easy to wear, discreet, compact unit with ideal center of gravity, you can easily keep up with one hand (approximately 700 g with batteries). It's great fun prowl with this combination and thus carefree photographing. Heavy zooms are usually me too top-heavy, too bulky and too conspicuous, you can no longer photograph carefree and unobtrusive so. However, the equivalent focal length 75 mm small image is no longer universally applicable, but forces to restrictions framing. Sorry, Pentax lens program to date no matter how small, lightweight and inexpensive prime lens with 28mm, which would correspond to approximately 40mm miniature and would better fit for street photography. The main applications of this lens are likely in the field Portrait, exhibitions, events, concerts, people, architecture (almost free of distortion) are, night scenes and images with selective focus / blur. The autofocus noise which was sometimes criticized here, does not bother me, rather to the Spartan facilities, a mount for a lens hood is missing and on Quickshift unfortunately I have to do without. For a reasonable image quality should be dim even at least 2.8. Overall, the lens on the camera feels very valuable at all sits and fits like a glove and moves without play and without wobbly parts. Anyone looking for a complement to 18-55 Zomm and whom the Limited lenses are in a high price range, is well served with this lens.
