The installation of the first hard disk (Samsung SpinPoint 500GB) gestaltette like expecting quite simple. The decor was also done quite fast. Unfortunately, I was later "retrofitting" of 1TB disk of the same type something to experiment with. I clicked too hasty to migrate, hoping for another security question or choices. Unfortunately, I was taken by a slow-moving progress bar attention, I just eliminate my 1TB indeed important but not indispensable data.
So you should already know what you're doing, especially if you are experimenting with filled disks.
I use the system primarily as a data grave and storage for multimedia content. The little gimmicks like Download Manager, DropBox, etc. I use only occasionally. Certainly there is still a wealth of features that could be retrofitted (camera server, etc.), but I think that this device is really sufficient for 95% of the NAS users.
Otherwise, you really have to spend about twice or three times. And I would prefer to invest in new 3TB hard drives.
I simply used the old Spinpoint plates from my desktop. This had always soft a SSD and were therefore over. 1.5TB are certainly not stunning, but the plates were available. Whether that will also meet the continuous operation show.
The partially negative reviews I can not understand. Presumably, these were to Monday models or incompatibilities.
The Zyxel forum I can also submit only recommend. The manual deserves its name namely not at all.
Moment ... That reminds me of the only negative point for me right. Apart from the somewhat obtrusive fan noise, which will soon be eliminated papal, bothers me the also very intrusive blue POWER LED. This actually manages to illuminate my entire living room. Possibly the firmware developers might look for a B solution here yes.
