I wanted in any case have a backlit keyboard with mechanical switches and at least one USB port on the keyboard. The design should be more simple and elegant and not ornate or extravagant. Separate multimedia buttons and display fields also I do not need. The price limit was actually at 150 euros. These conditions have evaporated severely the number of eligible keyboards. Based on personal recommendations regarding the general quality of workmanship from the circle of friends, I then decided to use the Razer BlackWidow Chroma, although the price is actually slightly higher than my expectations.
I have never regretted my choice. The workmanship is excellent and perfect in every detail. The matt surfaces give the impression of high quality. The keyboard is quite heavy which has the advantage that you do not slip. As with mechanical switches to be expected for the keys, the pressure required for the attack is slightly higher. The anchor point is, however, very precise and well defined. The keyboard is a bit louder when writing, but it keeps my mind still limited and wakes with me rather nostalgic feelings of the 80s, were as mechanical keyboards still standard. However, anyone who works in a relatively empty resounding space / play (or more sensitive to the background noise) is better to resort to stealth variant with muted keys, which was the time of my purchase, however, not yet available in Germany. For software, there is nothing more to say. Operation is intuitive and easy.
Nitpicking:
The secondary-key assignments (ยง $% &:; etc.) are not illuminated.
The cable is surrounded by a cloth, which although looks more significant, however, to get even more difficult clean with security is if it is after a certain period dusted times.
Is awakens the impression one would create an online account for the use of the supplied software is somewhat suspect. One has this account actually only create if you want to secure the keyboard profiles with Razer in the cloud.
Conclusion: The Razer BlackWidow Chroma is the best keyboard I've seen or used to date ...
