I was impressed by the "foolproof" Integration into the (WLAN) network: a laptop I could from the living room a print command to send to the office forever without me through configuration / installation routines to be stopped. The installation software is, no matter what connection, transmitted when switching on with.
Cool is also the possibility of the iPod / Phone / Pad via free app to send photos wirelessly to the 6150!
However, the control on the device itself, which was made possible by the built-in monitor hardly leaves open wishes: a large part of the lid acts like a large touch screen (but graphic is displayed in the printer display). What also intends the printer on the cover, only the necessary for their respective work keys on - confusion and rumprobieren ade ...
Nevertheless, the 6150 also has a weakness about which one must be clear on the outset: He has six (!!) more or less small tanks of which there is not yet the gray color as a third-party replacement *. After days of non-use it continually rinsed through the printhead, but this takes a little ink loss even without stuffing nozzle with it.
The exact make printing more expensive than the smaller slimmed models of this series. Nevertheless, or perhaps because of photo prints are almost comparable with a photo studio. Who does not interfere with the price should definitely access at the enormous brilliance. Ultimately you should be but ever glad that CANON retains the single tank system!
Conclusion:
The MG6150 is not only pretty, but also provides a consistent price / quality concept and excellent photo quality a unique, intuitive operating concept which you missed in the lower price ranges.
With its many features it is apart from the lack of BT and by lights hesitation to recommend to anyone who appreciates more to print quality than on high-speed and cost per page.
* Addendum of 16/11/2010:
Meanwhile, third-party inks are available in gray! The criticized by some high price when printing and by the rinsing process into perspective so final! Hence my rating rises from formerly 4 to a whopping 5 points. This is not a favor vote, but my honest opinion to which I am!
Addendum of 11/09/2012:
Once there were many comments on this printer review (especially of always the same, frustrated users), which deal with the topic and flushing the consequent page price, I write it again in no uncertain terms:
The printer has been of the date of one of the best and most extensive equipment and even today one of my personal favorites (and in use in 1-2 sets cartridges / year). The photo quality can be described as almost professionally! Only with effort and experience will recognize a difference to Druckstudio next drugstore savvy PRIVATE users. That alone justifies for people with photo ambitions buying !!
However, the printing price is high because it automatically and NOT ONLY manually cleans the print head for the print quality after a certain time. The nozzles remain clean, but the ink consumption increases. Each ink may but fortunately be changed individually - that is in 2012 is still not standard.
Duplex printing is only on color inks and scanning like some real copiers only if all the inks are fully (for whatever reason).
Depending on how much you want to order print photos, one can sometimes even be damn because of unmanageable multitude of top third-party cartridges - so in my case.
Compare the device with a thermal, laser or whatever printer is useless. It's a just a great Inkjet - nothing more! He makes sure little sense if you print a lot, or just text or just simple copies. That would accordingly as if you deliver a sports car the Post: Can you, but there is some contrast :)
So again, for those who always read such Rezis only cross:
Who needs to look out to whom money or photos are not primarily important, should rather buy something else.
