Tested under Windows 8.1, it is really very simple. A right click on the mouse and a small tower in the menu screen resolution 'confirms the emergence of the second screen. You can change its resolution according to its USB output. In USB 3.0, one reaches 1920X1080 800X600 against USB 2.0. The difference is significant. So be careful when buying this product, for most computers to USB 3.0.

Update 10-11-14: This product works perfectly with a video projector with VGA output. It connects the device to the VGA card that is inserted into a USB 3.0 port on the front panel (easily accessible) and you can enjoy a big screen. This is much less constraining than having to disconnect any of the plugs screen or having to pick an available port on the back of the computer.
