Processing
Of course I can understand the resentment if in one device appear workmanship. Now I can not discover this on my machine, so I can stop also only positive things. The touchpad sits where it is and specks of dust behind the screen I can not see well. Overheating problems so far I could not find in my applications with the Vivo Book. The metal case looks good and feels good. The bottom makes a slightly rubberized impression and provides a secure grip in the hand. All in all, makes it an incredibly high quality and stable impression. If I ever aufgreife the hot topic ... Apple because Asus can keep up with its Vivo Book and the associated processing in any case very well and at a really interesting price.
Operability
I was initially skeptical about the combination keyboard / touch panel and Win 8. But after a few days getting used to, I am really convinced of this concept. I do not want artificially euphoric sound but such operation yet I knew of any operating system in conjunction with a notebook. It seems as if everything has been precisely designed for each other. I do not know how it should best be represented, but my service runs roughly from so:
Data processing: Desktop view + keyboard (MS Office)
Internet: Touch screen, keyboard (address entry, forums postings, mail)
Apps: Touch screen, Win8 (The operation is really fun; like a tablet!)
Short for Windows 8, because it is so closely connected to the device numal:
It's really been a great and above all reliable concept behind it. I know very well that there is a lot of 8 sekptische in particular towards Windows, so, are negative statements. It is of course a matter of taste and I want to take anyone as this impression. But I personally have the impression that many opinions a little based on ignorance and mere repeat of public opinions include. I can recommend it to anyone, themselves to make an impression and please before one of the many "Win8 launch video" to watch. Win8 really offers many great opportunities and the soon upcoming update (8.1) will bring certainly still one or two improvements. If that's still not convinced, then so be it ...;) Of course, some features are not intuitively accessible but after short time is no longer a problem. The Windows Store is of course stocked a little tight, but is subject to change. There are daily more apps.
Disadvantages
True disadvantages, for that matter Vivo Book specifically, I can not see really. I place no unrealistic demands on a device for under 500th Of course, one wishes the i3 a little more power, the price / performance ratio is absolutely great! The only drawbacks, but so far not come to fruition, but which I ever potentially see and also would like to mention: permanently installed battery and no extension possibility of memory.
Conclusion
It is not my goal to deliver a promotional text here, but I'm just am satisfied the Asus. The material quality, the operability of the very good keyboard and the touch screen is really outstanding. It's just fun to work with the device and surf. The connectivity options (USB 3.0, VGA, HDMI, Mulit-card reader, Ethernet) allow for a device of this size absolutely nothing to be desired. It is with the i3 obviously not "Gamer Laptop" but "you get what you pay for" and a little bit beyond: Therefore without hesitation 5 Stars!
