At first I was looking for good computer speakers. I wanted to use the whole mainly to play, but also for listening to music with increased quality demands on sound quality. Was connected to the whole an Asus Xonar DX.
The S530D was delivered well packed, was relatively well-made and quick to set up and connected, all necessary cables were included - exemplary!
Then I have all undergone a detailed round Battlefield 3 and Crysis 3 - for a finished PC system that was relatively orderly, (slightly raised Treble to + 2, bass) for a little fine-tuning to use to gamble quite. Explosions came over pretty strong, could vote to be clearly understood. However, the spatial localization of opponents left to be desired, especially the "sticks" of sound at the two satellite speakers - the sound comes "from the speakers" rather than to float almost in space; There is either left, right frontal - but no gradations in between (as they have been in good bookshelf speakers). While this was not pretty, but at least to get over while gambling.
In music, however, the S530D disappointed - although I did not have particularly high expectations, because the system is very cheap and you can not expect much in the size of Satelitenlautsprecher, nevertheless I was disappointed. Voices sound slightly tinny, but especially "Pale", without contour and feeling. The heights are ok - nothing more. In the middle you could tell the qualitative deficits and the lack of membrane area, in more complex passages blurs the sound to a pulp (as we know it from Logitröt;)). And the Bass .... well. Much gewummere, showmanship - more not to use limited for games. MMN not really use for anything more than background music.
Granted, this criticism is not entirely fair - for a price of about 230 sounds S530D not bad, especially compared to other prefabricated systems I would prefer the Edifier in this price range well. Against something better Regallautsprecher (which I'm used to), the S530D (just like all other systems of this size) but in no way a chance. I have finally decided to do it, but to make more room for good listening experience, and the S530D resold, it was my claims simply do not do justice.
For those wondering what unless a better alternative, be said - needs sound volume and membrane area. Similar to displacement in the engine can be membrane surface irreplaceable - except by even more membrane area. I have finally decided on a combination of Denon PMA 520AE and Dynavoice DM6 (on stands) - and here my expectations were not only met, but far exceeded, and in all matters (who wants to save money is also a good, used Amp 90s for under 100 purchase). Worth noting - the small DM6 make for example in Battlefield 4 much stronger, deeper "thud" as the S530D with subwoofer! Even the sound floats beautifully in the room - you can opponents on the centimeter exactly places (I was actually 1.6 accused of cheating in CS because I could kill opponents frequently by a wall through). Music not only to talk - fantastic! There are lots of really good compact speakers, but this was here and can really inspire you!
All in all - If you want a small, space-saving Komplettestem for the PC, is here at least more correct than in several cheap sets and brands such as T and B ..... ...
From "Good" sound, however, is still quite far away. Who has no higher claims, just something "better" looking than all the uses 08/15 cheap plastic Brüllwürfel and music rather than background music, and is not prepared or able to more than 230 to invest - can access here. Relating the price with one, the whole package is here even relatively good !.
But if you want something really have good, you will need to find out a little more.
