I myself use the 430 EX II Canon for portraits and event photography.

I am very pleased with this product. He is reliable and the ETTL technology from Canon does not require much from the photographer. The automatic function takes over the task to illuminate the picture perfect very reliable. The guide number of 43 is sufficient for most situations.

What I miss is a battery indicator.

I've been buying but never looked back and use the flash frequently. A good investment in order to improve their photos.
