I was waiting for this game for years being a big fan of the first Mafia, and the reviews I've read in the early days of its release me a little scared. Many critics of the scenario was one of the great strengths of the first, but have not finished the game to this day, I can not say too much about it. Otherwise the atmosphere 40s is outstanding: incredible views, period music, there is a real NPC wildlife that live on their own. It's just magical to walk around the streets and crossing stuffed fighting bums or a girl crying on her boyfriend because he is unable to repair the car. Side graphics is simply stunning (provided having a graphics card that supports PhysX account), either the scenery, characters or cars. The small downside is the gameplay a bit dated in my personal goùt with not always very bright or reagent (particularly during gunfights), I would have preferred a slightly more fluid gameplay GTA for example. Besides, for those who buy Mafia thinking play a GTA old school think again. Although both games are similar (seen in the third person, freedom of movement ...), Mafia do not offer freedom of GTA. Of course you can walk the streets of Empire Bay (the card is 16km) but do not expect to find additional missions or races like in GTA. You can enjoy yourself to the limit to find photos of Playmates (period) where the opinion research scattered throughout the city, but it has absolutely no interest. The game is very scripted so no side missions, you will follow the main frame which nevertheless offers quite varied missions. In short I recommend, if you liked the first you should love again heat the Thompson in Mafia 2.
